The new building of the Pécs Medical School hosts the so-called Core Facility rooms that are fit for the highest needs of medical research and all have special characteristics. The shared area departments housed in the new building is in the middle, and it was developed using the “lab inside a lab” principle.

Developing the Imaging lab line was a big challenge. It has separate boxes with individually adjustable air and lighting technologies to protect the super sensitive optical equipment and to create areas isolated from outside light, and to have them provide photon-isolated, fully dust-free areas. Another area to note is the isolated, sluice-gated access system of the molecular biology lab, and also that the entire lab area has an air circulation system that can filter DNS and RNS contamination.
